Right! So after the elf I started on these guys. I'm trying yet another thing. I didn't paint these guys in pieces and assemble them later, instead, I painted them fully assembled. They didn't come out to bad to be honest. On top of that, I only painted 4 out of 12. Turns out, doing this really helps me focus on getting a couple of models done and not feeling like its a chore. Is it faster to paint 12 at a time? I think so actually, but will they look as good? Definitely not. So from now on I'm only going to paint 4 or so troop models at a time, and then paint a special guy or a small squad of something else in between. I'm hoping this will pick me up and help me produce more stuff! Not that I need that... =)
This blog space will be used to express my artistic creations. Whether that be painted figures, traditional drawings, digital works, photography, or writing... Is entirely at the mercy of the artist. You've been warned.

An Elven Druid
This was another commission for a friend of mine. They wanted an elf painted up, and when I looked at the model, I said "Sure, probably easy enough to do! There doesn't seem to be that much complex about her, just know that I don't really know how to do skin tones that well." Which, is true, and that was the learning experience for this model, among a few other things I came across when it showed up at my work place.

Autarch, Space Elf Badass.
Well, I'm going to call him done. I mean, he looks done to me. I really hate taking pictures of my stuff some times though, as that's when I can see a lot of problems. Sigh, I'm going to have to go back and fix his head dress. I swear I hold the thing as lightly as possible and paint STILL falls off the thing. Growl! Oh well.
So anyway, finished. This guy was a lot harder than I thought, and took me more time than I thought I'd take. I'm hoping I can call him done for now, but my friend will tell me what he thinks first. It took me some time to figure out how to do the high lights, and I'm not sure I'm happy with them. I look at the model picture and it's way different. Funny note, the blue I'm using seems to be morphic. Ya that's right, it changes. Both Graeme and I have noticed, that when painting with it, at times we think it's darker, and other times we think it's lighter! We can't figure out why it does this, but it does! He painted up 5 dire avengers using the stuff, and four of them look fine, while the last one looks darker. Go figure! =D
